Welcome to DG Counseling, LLC. My name is December. I don’t know what life situation brought you here but I’m glad you made the first step. This is a place to feel comfortable with who you are, where you are and where you want to go. I find the idea of counseling to be challenging for most people. I understand. Life doesn’t stop when you are having a rough period and it is sometimes hard to see the other side of the road. We are here to help. We are here to listen. We are here to allow you to share the things you are thinking but afraid to say out loud. WE ARE HERE. We are real people who have lived through many challenges and continue to do so. We lean on others to help manage the rough waters and even the small ripples. Sometimes we need to know we aren’t alone. We have each other to walk along side and share the burdens of life. What season of life are you in?

Don’t have time for driving to a counseling office? No problem! If you live in Kentucky or Georgia, I (December) provide online (telemental health) counseling. It’s just like meeting me in the office only you can save gas and come in your PJ’s (no judgment here). This is a great option if it is hard to get childcare, live a distance from the office, work hours are difficult to get an appointment. If you live in Savannah we can do a hybrid with some online and some in-person to help with your comfort level. It’s a brave new world in which we live!

December Goad, MA, LPC, NCC

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to learn about DG Counseling, LLC. I know choosing a counselor is a very personal decision, and I truly appreciate you being here.

My name is December, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Kentucky (the same license with a different title), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Over the years, my private practice work has allowed me to support individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, and adults through a wide range of life experiences.

I am especially passionate about working with individuals, especially adults, families and children who are navigating Autism Spectrum diagnoses, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and other developmental disabilities. I approach therapy from an eclectic, client-centered perspective, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, behavioral interventions, and attachment-based theories. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which can be especially helpful for clients working through long-standing or deeply rooted challenges.

While I use evidence-based approaches to guide my work, I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative. You are the expert on your own life, and together we shape sessions to meet your unique needs and goals. At times, this may include homework or reflection exercises—tools that can help bring greater insight and depth to the work we do together.

My goal is to support you in creating meaningful change and moving toward the life you want. If you feel ready to take that next step, I would be honored to work with you. Please feel free to reach out—I look forward to meeting you.
