Hello and welcome! My name is Jovanna Javis. I’m a Savannah native who loves to engage with others which makes my approach to counseling relaxed and personal. I am known for my sense of humor and openness to new experiences and I look forward to hearing yours.
I am a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and a graduate from Liberty University. I have a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling. My clinical experiences includes anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, Autism, and developmental disabilities across the age spectrum. I have had the privilege to work with clients in all ages and stages of life which include working with individuals, adolescents and children. I am passionate about walking alongside clients in their healing journey so I work with you to select the individual treatment for your needs.
My educational and professional experience has provided me with extensive training with families and children on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). Prior to pursuing Counseling, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician for 7 years with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. This experience included behavior and parent training. I would love to use my skills and knowledge to help your family with any behavioral needs and concerns.
My specialties consist of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapist (ACT), Exposure response therapy/ OCD (ERP), Behavior Therapy (BT), and Mindfulness. I utilize an eclectic approach with my client to provide them the guidance they need to meet their goals. Part of this process may include watching movies, reading books, drawing, and journaling.
